The settlement of the strike was first published in the form of a brief official statement at" the close of the all-night conference between the railway -managers and locomotive men's union, -with the Mediation Committee in attendance. The conference assembled shortly before midnight, and keenly debated the points at issue, uiitil close on 5 o'clock in the morning. \ : The terms of settlement are not yet available., but Mr. Bromley says that ' these are very satisfactory to the men.
