HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL
A. meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council was held last evening. Present : - The Mayor (Mr. W. T. Strand), and Councillors D. A. Ewen, A. J Hobbs, E. W. Hunt, W. G. Meldrum, J. Mitchell, and L. T. Watkins. Apologies were received from Councillors Teagle and' M'Bain. The. WeDington Eugby Union wrote applying for two grounds, the same as last year. Referred to the Reserves •Committee. The Hutt Valley District School Committees' Association: wrote asking the council to receive a deputation at the next meeting of the council, in regard to the proposed Hutt Valley High School. It waj decided to accede to the request. , ■ ■ ■ F. Newman wrote, aßking if the council would sell him a piece of land at the rear of his section. : Referred to the Estates Committee. Mr. Gadsby. wrote asking for a right-of-way off Taing's- road, to the rear of the fish shop. Councillor Hobbs moved, and Councillor Hunt seconded, that the1 request be not granted. The motion was carried. j_ On Councillor ,Watkin'g motion, Mr. Gadsby was allowed to ■ use the right-of-way until such times as the 'council required it. '- . ' ,Tho registration fees for ordinary dogs were fixed at 10s, f or sheep dogs <& od.
