AUCKLAND, This Day. Ihe Auckland lawn tennis championships, which began on Saturday, are now nearing. their final stages? The following semi-finals were played to-day •— Ladies' Singles.—Miss A. Howe (Weii.Ungton) beat Mrs. Hogben, 6-3, 6-3; Miss Marjory Macfarlane beat Miss B Knight, 6-4, 6-3. .-.-•■- ' Xadies' Doubles.—Miss MacCormick and Mrs. Marshall beat the Misses Macfarlane, 7-5, 7-9, 10-8. Men's Singles.—E. Griffith beat E Bartleet, 4-6, 8-6, 6-8, 6-4, 6-2- Dr Laurenson beat W. Fotteringham, 3-6', 6-4, 6-3. ' Men's Doubles.—Griffiths and Brinsden beat Johns and Johns. 2-6 6-1 6-4, 9-7. ' ' Finals are being played this afternoon as follow:—Men's Singles, Dr. Laurenson v. E. W. Griffiths; doubles/Griffiths and Bnnsden v. Bartleet and Robson; ladies' singles, Miss Howe v. Miss Marjcry__MacfarJane; ladies' doubles, Mrs. Hogben and Mis s Knight v. Miss MacCormick and Mrs. Marshall.
