(AUCKLAND, This Day. The Ta^kapuna Jockey Club's Summer Meeting opened to-day in fine weather, with a large attendance. The course ivas good. Results:— Trial Handicap, of 250 soys; seven furlongs.—Uralla, 7.12, 1; Desert Glow 7.8, 2; Drawbridge, 7.12, 3. Scratched: Hungahunga, Kumio, Libertas, Miss Vera, General Pryde. Won by threequarters of a ; length, third horse a neck away. Time, lmin 29sec. - ".■ - - ~ Zealandia Handicap, of 450 soys; seven furlongs.—Hipo, 6.7, 1; Broadwood, 7.13, 2; Jolly Gay, 6.9, 3. Scratched : Rppapa, Prettym'an, Bonnie Canny Won by a head. Time, lmin 27sec.
