(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZBALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) _ LONPON, 22nd January. The Pacific Cable Board has prepared a Bill which it is hoped to introduce early with the object of making the board more independent of the British Treasury, and more-directly under the control of the partner Governments. The proposals also reduce the number of the Imperial Government's representatives to the same as allowed to Omada and Australia and places the appointment Of tho chairman in tho board's hands It further limits the durtionof the' chairman's'office, and also provides for his increased .remuneration, and for payment' of allowances to such members as do not hold any office of profi%.under the Crown or in the Dominion Governments. Provision is also made to enable the board to establish cable communication by means of wireless stations at the West Indies.
