UOBTIUUAN-MW ZMLAKD CA»L» ASSOCIATION.)
(Received 23rd January, noon.)
_ * LONDON, 22nd January. The "Tvlorning Post's" Paris correspondent says tnat the seizure of original documents by the Commission investigating the devastated region frauds has caused' a panic in industrial concerns. The commissioners are now in possession of the original claims made in 1917; and also the revised statements made in 1919 and 1921, which- contain damaging evidence of the manner .in which the inflation of claims was carried out. / ■
It is stated that 75 per.cent, of the leading industrial firms in the North are involved. Many papers have disappeared from the dossiers, but, unfortunately for the guilty parties, a record of their various claims,-was made in the books when the original papers reached Paris. Officials connected with the Ministry for the Liberated Regions will be askei to explain why one controller retired within ten months and others received important posts with firms in Northern France.
