SYDNEY CRICKET GROUND

RESPONSIBILITY FOR CATERING ARRANGEMENTS.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)

(Received 23rd January, noon.)

SYDNEY, This Day. The Cricket Association has issued a lengthy statement explaining that the trustees of the Sydney Cricket Ground, and not the association, are responsible for the catering arrangements, and adding that in future the secretary-will ensure that players receive proper attention. The statement also explains every step taken to reimburse players who lose wages through participating in games. The Cricket Association regrets that it is unable to persuade C. Kelleway to play against Victoria, though he informed the association that he would do everything possible to secure the necessary leave.

The reference to catering arrangements on the Sydney Cricket Ground" is the outco.rie of a row which occurred during a Sheffield Shield match between New South Wales and South Australia,, when Collins protested to the association's treasurer (Mr. Tyler) at the apparent neglect of players. . The incident at the time was declared to be "a storm in a tea cup " as well as over-one".
