OPENING DAY'S RESULTS.
PALMERSTON N., This Day. The Manawatu Racing Club's Meeting opened to-day in beautiful weather. There was a large attendance, and the course was good. Results:—
Tokomaru Hurdles, of 225 soys; one mile and three-quarters.—Eonmaik, 10.4, 1; Otauru Kid, $.11, 2; Sir Rosebery, 10.9, 3. Scratched: Vagabond, Santiago. Won by two lengths, with three- lengths between second and third horses. ■ Time, 3min 16 l-ssec. Maiden Plate, of 200 soys; six furlongs.—All Gold, 8.0, 1; Panim, 8.0, 2; Heathcote, 8.0, 3. All started. Won by a length, with a length and.a half between second and third horses. Time, lmin 16 l-ssec. . '
Tararua Welter.—Basso, 1; Red Cherry, 2; Stream, 3. Scratched: Dodo, Cairo, Merrimas, The Cheat, Kawana Semplice. Won by three lengths. Time, Imm, 50 2-ssec. <
