AUCKLAND, This Day. The Auckland Racing Club's Meeting was opened to-day in -fine weather, with' a large attendance, and' the track in excellent order. Results: '- ■--
Shortland Plate, of 600 soys; one mile; special weights.—Suggestion, 1; Charlady, 2; Elsie Aroha, 3. Scratched: Pinnote, Pelham, Pandaves. Won by two and a half lengths, with the third horse half a length behind. Time, lmin 38 4-ssec.
Great Northern Foal Stakes, of 1500----sovs; six furlongs (special' weights).— Motley 1, Inferno 2, Killocra 3. Scratched: Son o' Mine, Muscari, Shining Armour, Gold Fern. Won by two lengths, with third horse one length and a half behind. Time lmin. 14 3-ssec. _ Robinson Handicap, of 400 soys ; seven furlongs.—Royal Divorce, 8.2, 1; Pretty Man, 7.12, 2; Aerofortis, • 7.4, 3 Scratched: Sentinella, Gold Fern, Archibald, Muna, Maria of Hereford, Midget, Xak e Take, Abberfield, Birel A'rb. Won £gthree'qUarters of a kngth, with the sitme distance between second and third horses. Time, lmin 28 2-ssec.
