Mr. Barrett, chairman , x of the Management Committee of the' New Zealand Cricket Council, who is in Dunedin for the races, states that the committee did everything possible to arrange the New South Wales tour with fairness, and found it impossible to"'give Auckland a test: Dunedin was before Auckland with its request; but he also defied accepting the decision without demur. The tour was only for' eight weeks and was the shortest ever arranged, and it was impossible for the visitors to do more travelling: The visitors Would be three days in Auckland before sailing, and a game might be arranged, but not a test.
