SYDNEY, This Day. The undergraduates of Sydney University are, undertaking' to raise £10 000 with the object of building a carillon equal to the famous Loughborough carillon, as a permanent war memorial for the university.
A carillon is a mechanically-operated chime of bells. The use of machinery for ringing the bells enables more intricate and accurate ringing to be done than is usually possible by manual means.' ■
