THE PARTY'S APPROVAL
LONDON, 12th December. Most of the Unionist Party approve of the Cabinet's decision to meet Parliament, following the precedent of Lord Salisbury in 1892. The chief dissentient was Mr. Austen Chamberlain. Mr. Baldwin altered bis original impulse to resign after a threatened protest by many members of the House of Commons against his advising the King to summon Mr. Macdonald.
