LONGER HOURS AND LESS PAY.
LONDON, 12th December. The "Morning Post's" Berlin correspondent says that Herr Marx, the Chancellor, is continuing Dr._ Stresernann's policy of economy in the public services, dismissing officials and ordering. those remaining to work harder for leas pay: The working week in future will be 54 hours instead of 48. Postmen will receive £36 to £50 a year, engine-drivers £45 to £60, ordinary officials £120 to £160, ambassadors £380, secretaries o{ State £500, .Reich Ministers £750, and the .Chancellor £850.
