The United States Government will ■view with favour the participation oi American experts in the > Reparations Commission inquiry committees now under consideration, but it emphasises that the Government could not participate in any official way or appoint official representatives on the committees. NEW YORK, 11th December. The "New York Times's" Washington correspondent says that President Coolidge believes the final proposal to determine Germany's financial capacity will prove the most substantial step in the direction of solving Europe's economic problems, and «hopes it will Teeult in a, plaii for the payment of reparations.' It is furthermore stressed that although the United States cannot formally participate in the work of the Reparations Committee, the American experts ehoses will serve with the* express approval of the American Government. It is understood that General Daws, who was one of the first directors of the United States Budget, and Mr. Morgan will probably be included among the American experts. The United States decision to accept M. Poincare's invitation was actuated by the information that France would in no way restrict the experts' inquiries, and the conviction that the Premier's proposal closely approximated to the Hughes-Curzon plan.
