CHRISTCHURCH, 12th Dec. John Allen (aged 55), a carrier employed by J. M. Heywood and Compauy, was skilled to-day at Sockburn. The horses in the lorry he was driving became frightened. Allen lost his reins, and got down to recover them. While he was between the horses they moved forward and knocked him down. One of the wheels passed over his head, killing him instantly. >
