NEW SOUTH WALES TOURING TEAM ARRIVES.

AUCKLAND, 11th December.' ' The. New South Wales tennis team, consisting of F. Peach (captain), K. L. Poulton, E. Jordan, R. J. Goodman, G. R. Reid, and W. H. Pise, arrived by the Marama to-day. Mr. E. B. M'Kay, the manager, said that the . team was solid and very even. Peach said that h6 was the only member who had previously visited the Dominion Tares members had played for the State fairly often. Among the younger players there was most promising material, which would develop as the tour progressed. Speaking of the game generally in New South Wales, Peach said that tennis was never more popular. The clubs in Sydney alone had thousands of active members, including some very promising material. The hard court'associations were particularly strong, and tennis was recruiting colts,'both from the hard courts and the country; about 1500 country players, were expected in Sjdney; when tournaments and matches with metropolitan teams would continue over ten days.
