Mr. Massey, asked for his views on the political situation arising out of the elections, said: "When the British ►people take time to think that they have to choose sooner'or - later between two alternatives—namely, making the Empire self-supporting, or continuing to support the ii ado and commerce of other countries which are not under the British flag, and which cannot be expected to reciprocate, I think I know what the result will be."
