Gene Tunney defended the American light-heavyweight boxing title, getting the judge's verdict over Harry Greb after fifteen rounds. Greb made a spectacular rally in the last round. Tunney had the best of the majority of the rounds.' Greb angered the spectators with rough tactics in the clinches'. Many of Greb's blows went wild. Rickard announces that he is matching Tunney with Carpentier in the United States in January.
