PAREMATA BOATING CLUB

The Paremata Boating Club held its second race of the season over the PJimmerton course during the week-end. A light north-west wind prevailed. Ths following boats took part: Mr. France's Sea Lady (scr), Mr. Sterling's Queenie (scr), Mr. Foster's Taupo (lOmin), Mr. Fisk's Wairau (12min), Mr. Waddell's Plim (14min). Taupo was late in starting, the rest getting away to time. The scratch boats crossed the line together, and were soon after the limit boats. The race was interesting, as very little distance separated these sailers. Queenie was first home, in 55mfn Msec, Sea Lady being a good second in 55min 50 sec, only 20sec between the first boats. Plim was third in 58min, 24min behind the winner., This boat wag well sailed by Mr. Waddell, and he deserves credit for. the efficient manner in which he handled his craft.

Continued interest in sailing matters is being taken by enthusiasts of Paremata and Plimmerton in this popular pastime, and the club hopes to see several more boats competing in the near future. Mr. E. Anderson was starter and judge for the day. Entries for this week's race are now being received, and will bo held on the lower harbour course.
