HUTT BODY MEETS.

In a table submitted to. the Hutt County Council this morning it nat ihown that Epuni riding was £165 underspent, while Horokiwi was £209 17s underspent on the total . for th« year up to the end of Novembeir. Th« ridings overspent are Mungarpa £80 6s Bd, Wainui-o-mata £148 15s 9d,.Wbareroa £112 lls 9d. The amounts spent to date, the yearly allowance being shown in parentheses, have totalled cs follow :—Eptmi £1566 18b (£2600), Horokiwi £1645 9s 8d (£2783), Mungarpa £2627 (£3280), \Vainui,6-mata"£lSß6 15s 9d (£1857), Whareroa £1392 lls 9d (£1920).

The council was reported to have issued seven building permits of ,3 value of £2950 from 10th November to 6th December.

The secretary's report showed that rates totalling £3976 had come in since last meeting. The credit . balance at 10th December was £2319, and after accounts scheduled * had been paid th» council would have a credit balapce of £600. The chairman (Mr. H. D. V<ttkinson) remarked that this was the most satisfactory position the council had been in for a considerable period. In response to a petition from PJimmerton ratepayers, the council decided to obtain an engineer's report. on the subject of a water supply.
