PETONE COUNCIL
A meeting of the Petone Borough Council was held last evening. Present: The Mayor (Mr. J. W. M'Ewan), Councillors W. Hay, H. Jay, V. Jacobson, W. Coles, and G. Cook.
The Assistant-District Public Trustee wrote oiTering the council £400 for putting the private streets in proper order. The council accepted the offer, provided the Public Trustee offered the properties first at a reasonable price to the present tenants.
The offer of Mr. Anyan to pay half the cost of repairing a lamp-post knocked down by his motor-car when attempting to evade a woman and child was accepted. Mr. L. Russell wrote complaining of the street concert in Jackson street on Inday nights, which blocked the streets and interfered with business. It was decided that, in future all concerts be held at the intersections of the streets . It was decided that a public meeting be held at Korokoro to discuss matters in connection with the road
