ACCUSED MAN COMMITTED FOR
TRIAL.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCUTION.—COPTRIGBV.) (Received 24th November, 2.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. . Angua Murray has been committed for trial on a charge of escaping from Geelong Gaol. He was remanded to 7th December on a charge of robbery and with murdering Mr. Berriman. '
Mr. Berriman, manager of the Commercial Bank at Hawthorn, was shot while approaching the Glenferrie Railway, Station, and died on 23rd October. The bandits robbed him of a bag containing £1850, and decamped in a motorcar. Murray was subsequently captured »t St. Kilda, but the police are still searching for another man who, it is alleged, actually fired the shot.
