ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE

DISTRICT COMPETITIONS.

The St. John | Ambulance Brigade annual district competitions are being held st the Buckle Street Drill Hall to-mor-row, commencing at 10 a.m. Competitors are coming from as far south as Timaru, and work will be carried out both in squads and individually, in first aid, emergency bed-making, and rollerbandaging. The public are cordially invited to be present to see how varied and useful the work and knowledge gained might prove. The examinations are being conducted by various local doctors, Dr. Henry being the senior Dominion surgeon of the brigade. Mr. J. P. Hislop will be the officer in charge of the competitions, which consist of three inter-district and two" district events, the trophies being three cups ; and two rose bowk. .
