.To-day'a weather conditions do not pijcivide a base on. which to place strong nope .o{ a continuance oi fine weather, and the outlook^ as seen by the Director of; 'the Meteorological Office (Mr. D.' C. Bates), is not improved by the appearance of another •disturbing element. Moderate to strong . northerly to westerly wirjds have ruled,.with dull, threatening conditions at times, and rain has fallen an the western districts. There is a probability, Vof:. a small ex-tropical disturbance; to .the north-west, while a westerly low "pressure is operating to the Bouth. !«The3e two conditions, says Mr. Bates, Sre' likely to account for skies cloudy tovovercast, and rain following generally^'- The barometer is unsteady, and wilt.probably rise everywhere soon ■when the winds will back to southerlies.
