NEW YORK, 12th November. The "Chicago Tribune'" Tbkio correspondent s^ys that, due to the need for drastic economics as a result of tliti earthquake, the Naval Ministry' has Voluntarily reduced its Budget by'sixty million yen, arid accepted a special appropriatidn of 105 millions and the ordinary appropriation of 117 millions. Orders for tho construction of a fifth-class cruiser have eben cancelled j arid i t is understood that the cancellation of other contracts will probably occur. Other Governmeiital Departments expect also that their appropriations will be stringently reduced.
