DEPUTATION AT TIMARU.

TIMARU, Ist November. The Minister of Railways, accompanied by the General Manager, visited and made an inspection of South Canterbury to-day, starting at. the Rangitata River this morning, where the'question of the erection of a new traffic bridge was placed before him, and finishing at Timaru to-night, where he received three deputations on various local matters. At noon the Minister was entertained at dinner at Temuka by the Borough Council.. Before proceeding to Timaru Mr. Coates visited Fairlie. Deputations were received at Temuka and Fairlie.
