The annual spirts gathering of the Waitaki Boys' Yi'igh School was held ;to-day, in fine we,a'ther, and in the presence of a large gathering, including the Oovernor-General. The senior cup was won by A. W. Smi\'r)son, the junior cup by T. Mahoney, an,? the'sprints championship by H. Havrftins. At the con■clusion of the sports, the 'Governor-Gen-eral laid the foundation-stone of a Hall of M-emories, which is to be erected nt the school at a cost of ,4310,000 In the evening His Excellency .iv.Uended-a smoke : concert given by the W4i\fcalti Old Boys' Association. He will leave for Christchurch to-morrow. , ■!> ■
