A FINE RECORD.

The four-horse team which the Wellington City Council sends each year to the Manawatu Show for exhibition returned to Wellington to-day under the care. of Mr. A. Firth, head stableman to the council. Mr. Firth reported .that the animals had done especially well in the various classes for which they had entered. The worth of the'" team may be judged from the fact that altogether it secured five firsts, three seconds, won" the special prize for beskfooted, horse on the show ground, the arJecial prize for best shod horse, and the special prize (gold medal) for the best decorated and cleaned team in harness. • It'wig also highly commended twice. In {the decorating of the horses, which were all geldings, no .less than 86 skeins of wool were used.
