DUST IN MELBOURNE

It is interesting to note that the special dust-laying preparation at present being tested out.by the City Corporation in Clyde quay has apparently been accepted as something well worth a thorough trial by the Melbourne City authorities, and a considerable mileage of roads leading to the Flemifigton Racecourse were to be sprayed with the mixture prior to the Cup Meeting. It is cleaimed by the manufacturers, states " Melbourne Age," that a road need be Bprayed only three times per year, and that as a result of the great saving in labour and plafft the cost of sprinkling is not more than a quarter of that necessitated by water-dust laying. Bitaloid and water costs more than mere water, but labour costs are the greatest consideration.
