SINGAPORE BASE
COLONY PAYS FOR THE LAND,

SINGAPORE, 29th October. The Legislative Council has voted half a million dollars to cover the cost of purchasing tho land for the naval base. The colony is paying for the land as a contribution to the expense of the base.
