POCKET TESTAMENT LEAGUE

The final meeting of the Pocket Testament League Committee was held at the Bible House yesterday. Mr. G. A. Troup was in the chair, and others present were .Hppkirk,_ W Greig, E. P. Hay, T. Ballmger, H. South, and the Rev A T Ihompson. Several apologies were received.. !-n. Ti?lc S&*' A- T- Thompson '.reported ■■ that 55,200 Testaments had arrived-m".the Dominion for the effort, 24,000 of which had been held up by the. dock strike at Home, and so had arrived too-late for Mr. Davis to use in his campaign. However, 31,200 members of-the league had been enrolled, chiefly boys and girls, ■ and had received the Testaments. .Auckland Falmerston North, Gisborne-, Masterton, Levin Wocdvilto, Wellington, Chrfstchurch;- Lyttelton, and Ashburton, and other places had been visited. Never hid there been an effort on ao extensive * scale to -roach the young' people of New <v Zealand with the Scriptures. ■ Arrangements are being made to übs the 24,000 Testaments that have -recently arrived, mainly in South Canterbury; Otago, and Taranaki. ; A sum of £1004 8s 4d had been received at th© Bible House, Wellington," >as subscriptions and donations, for: payment of the Testaments, besides what had been raissd in Auckland and Dunedin for the effort there.
