There is an improved spring suspension, new upholstery, improved dash equipment, new arrangement of seats, longer and lower steering column, and a number of other features that add materially to riding and drivjug comfort. There is a transmission lock to prevent theft, which reduces insurance rates materially, and the electric wiring is enclosed in insulated conduits. THE SPECIAL MODELS Form a, strong feature of the firm's display. The six-cylinder four-seater sports model is indeed a striking vehicle. There is also a six-cylinder fiveseater special, or a flve-seater, four-cylin-der special. The motorist will find in these special models the same power, the same ruggedness, the same operating efficiency that characterise Buick cars in general. He will find besides, a distinction of appearance and a careful attention paid to details of appointment that place these cars in the true luxury class. The outstanding features of the Buick special are the handsome body colours, solid walnut steering wheel, combination stop and tail lamp, walnut finish control lever knob, nickeled dumbbell type radiator cap, solid walnut instrument board, highest grade drab duck top, walnut finish horn button, front bumper, rear vision mirror windshield wiper. The sixes have, in addition, radimeter, and petrol gauge on instrument board, special detachable tool box front door, combination aluminium scuff plates, foot scraper and mats, and natural wood bows; the fours have aluminium scuff plates—features that give them their strong appeal to the experienced and critical motorist.

The Harley coupe is one type of the Austin car on the stands that seems to attract much favourable comment from professional men. As the name, implies the coupe is pre-eminently suited to the use of doctors who prefer a type lighter than the Austin Twenty," and although this is such an excellent town car, and so well ntted for social engagements, it is capable of the hardest work on long journeys when the weather protection proves very acceptable There is another ''Austin four-seater twelve horse-power A. real beauty. This model has accommodation of a very roomy character, and would prove an excellent family car, designed for the most economical service." The front seat is adjustable, and like other Austin touring cars, these models are upholstered in leather, and include side curtains in their equipment. Yet-another model, the two four-seater Austin, is shown. There are. two main bucket seats and a double dickey; of good capacity. Behind the'main seats are two detachable auxiliaries, which also are covered by the hood when raised. This enables child passengers to be protected in batl weather. AUCKLAND ROOFING TILES Made in Palmerston North.

Building operations are becoming brisk in the Palmerston North Borough. The council reckon on getting at least £1000 in fees during the present year, and from what can be gathered this estimate israther under than over the amount. It is a noticeable fact that fully 80 per cent, of the buildings being erected at present in Palmerston North are being roofed with the locally-made Auckland roofing tiles. Messrs. Trevor Bros., the well-known building contractors, are the controlling agents for these tiles. The factory is situated in Sunimerhayes street near Terrace End, and here large quantities are being turned out. The tiles are made in two colours—a dark red, and a neat cement grey. The new Catholic, church ;in Broad street, which is now in course of'construction, will be roofed with these tiles, the colour selected being the red ones, and it is worthy of mention that buildings on which these tiles were placed several years ago remain perfectly watertight, and the tiles are entirely free from vegetation, such as is experienced with the imported article. It is perfectly certain that this neat, attractive, and inexpensive rile has come to be regarded as the best roofing material obtainable. Messrs. Trevor Bros, will quote you or give ail details.

Besid.es the fine array of Buicks, the firm exhibit a two-seater Dort, equipped with a lovely body, built in their own factory. A real masterpiece of the motor body builder's art. Bett and Bayly's exhibition, generally speaking, is one full of interest for everyone .that visits the show.- It demonstrates not only the rapid advancement made in motor traction, but gives the public an excellent idea of the capabilities and resources oE this big Palmerston firm of motor importers and engineers. . -
