(BY TELEGRAPH.! (FROM OUR OWN REPORTER.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. ■The Manawatu and East Coast Spring Show opened to-day in beauiful weather. There is a very tyrge catalogue, and the function promises to be a bright success. Successful competitors at other shows have placed their best animals here, so that the competitions will be most interesting. To-day the judging was confined to school, home industries, photography, and the pig section. Cattle, horses, and sheep will be judged to-morrow. I

PALMERSTON N., Tijs Day Owing to the absence of the dog section this year the total entries show a decline on last year's figures, the total being 3501 against 3965 in 1922, when 1460 dogs were entered. While the competitions in horses, cattle, art fancy needlework, technical and public schools declined somewhat, sheep, pigs, photography, and home industries advanced in numbers, especially the latter and sheep, both being very strong classes
