AUCKLAND SESSIONS

(II T2LIGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)

AUCKLAND, This Day. Commenting- on the opening of the criminal session, Mr. Justice Stringer said the calendar was exceptionally long, containing 33 cases against 31 individuals, uut there was nothing special except the deplorable proportion of sexual offences, which totalled nearly half of the number of cases. This seemed to indicate an extent of degeneracy amongst the community, which was somewhat disquieting, though none of the cases seemed to be of a particularly gross character.
