ENGLISH TALENT DISAPPOINTING. "Rugby League talent in New South Wales, as we saw last season, is not to be compared with what it used to be," says the "Sydney Referee." "Apparently in England they are finding the position somewhat similar, to judge" by this significant cable extract from the "Athletic News," a very reliable authority : 'It is an open seqret that in official circles the two representative Rubgy League games already played have been Disappointing in their primary object, namely, the discovery of new talent for a team to tour Australasia. It is certain that at least two further trials will be arranged. It is understood the team will play sixteen, matches in Australia, twelve in New Zealand, and return to England late in September.' Fortunately, in Australia there is something to hearten supporters of the game in the brilliant form shown by Queensland last season."
