Tho directors were authorised to proceed to the allotment of 60,000 preference shares, of whioh 50,000 ■ have already been subscribed. The canvass will 'be continued for the balance of the money. . D. Hunt, manager of Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co who. has been appointed the bank's representative. Mr. John S. Connett has been elected chairman. Much enthusiasm was shown by the large attendance of shareholders, and everything is being done to ensure the success of the reconstructed concern
