FALL INTO A CELLAR
CLAIM FOE. DAMAGES.
(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
CHPJSTCHURCH, This Day. In the Supremo Court, Robert Eagle, labourer, sued the New Zealand Picture Suppliers, Limited, for £750 damages for injuries received by falling into a cellar in the Grand Picture Theatre. He attended a session, and admittedly dozed in his seat. Getting up, he opened a door which he thought led to a lavatory, and fell into the cellar, his injuries including the loss of the sight of one eye. The defence was that plaintiff was intoxicated, and used a door obviously not intended for use by the public. The case is proceeding.
