Miss Gertrude Ederle set a new record for the 100 metres free style swim by doing the distance in lmin 12 l-ssec.
This is the second record Miss Ederle has beaten during the past few days. Last Thursday she lowered the £00 rrietres record by llsec. The previous l'ecord for 100 metres free style by ladies was held by Miss E. Bleibtrey, of the United States, who covered the distance in 1920, at Antwerp, in lmin j 13 3-ssec. I
