DEPRESSED MEAT MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London house, under date 12th October:—"New Zealand Frozen Meat.—Lamb, IOJd per 1b (aver-' age); mutton, wether and maiden ewe, light Sid per lb,- heavy 7{d per lb; ewe, light 6Jd p-;r lb, heavy ftjd per lb. Beef.—Ox hinds 4}d per lb, fores 2Jd per lb. Cow hinds 3Jd per" lb, fores 2Jd per lb. Market very depressed.'
Messrs. Levin and Co. have received the following cablegram from thetr London agents, dated 12th October:—"Quotations N.Z. prime Canterbury lamb IOJd, North Island lOjd; prime Canterbury mutton, SdNorth Island mutton 7Jd;- ewes, fid; NZ prime ox beef, hinds 4|d, fores 21?. These prices are c.v store. As compared with last week's quotations, lamb is id cheaper, mutton unchanged, ewes and beef binds Id cheaper, beef fores unchanged.
