Making his fifth appearance for drunkenness, Joseph Johnston was remanded for sentence until Monday to enablel further inquiries to be made with a view to sending the accused to "The Island."

Ernest Gustav Hugo Lohman, alias Ernest Lahmann, charged with using obscene language, was fined £5 and costs, in default 21 days' imprisonment. On a charge of drunkenness, he was convicted and discharged.

At the Mount Cook Police Court this morning, before Mr. w. H. Coy, J.P.. one first offender for drunkenness mis convicted and discharged, while Martin Samuelson, with previous convictions for drunkenness, wan sentenced to seven days' imprisonment. , '
