NEGLECTING A CHILD
TWO NATIVES CHARGED.

DANNEVIRKE, This Day An unusual case was heard before the Magistrate, Mr. Dyer, at the Ormondville, Police Court, when two Natives were charged with wilfully neglecting a child under four years of age The defendants had adopted the infant, now fours years old, in December, 1921, they being relatives of its parents, but in May, 1925, they had abandoned it, and left the district. The- child was in a bad way, being hungry and badly nourished, covered with soree, and clad only in a frock and old coat. The Magistrate said the case was a very bad one.
