MR. COATES AT FOXTON

■ FQXTON, This Day. Ihe Hon J. G. Coates, accompanied by Mr R. W. M'Villy, General Manager of Kaihvays, and other Departmental officials, arrived in Foxton by special train this morniug, and were met at the station by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, the Borough Council, and the Manawatu County Council, jfr J Linklater, M.P.. introduced a deputation to the Minister, • and the . road deviation at Whirokino and other matters of local interest were discussed with the Minister. Afterwards the wharf was inspected, and the party returned to Palmerston North.
