BIG JEWEL THEFT
£30.000 WORTH STOLEN,

(Received 4th September, .1.30 p.m.) LONDON, 3rd September. A .jeweller's traveller, carrying £30,----000 • worth of goods, and staying at a leading Harrogate hotel, received a call from his bedroom, which he locked. He received a bogus telephone message,.and on returning to his room fifteen minutes later he found his jewel case.cut open and the gems missing. He learned that a guest in an adjoining .room had hastily departed. The theft is believed to be the work of an international gang.
