Beserved decision was given by Mr. W. G. Eiddell, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court this morning in the civil ease in which Richard J. Hankins proceeded against John Edwaid Jones for the recovery of £18, the amount alleged to have been agreed upon for the erection of a flight steps and the installation of an electric light. The defence was raised that the goods were fixtures, and belonged to the property, but the Magistrate evidently was not convinced, and gave judgment for the plaintiff for the -amount claimed " with substantial costs. At the hearing Mr. P. W. Jackson appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. E. G. Watson for the defendant.

Messrs E. Johnston and Co., will soil household furniture at their mart, at 130 to-morrow. On Thursday, at 10.30, they will _offer motorcars at their mart, and at 1.30 gramophones, corrugated iron, and unclaimed goods.
