The inter-provincial match betweje Otago and Waiiarapa representatives was played on Carisbrook Ground tbi afternoon in fine but cold weather. A fairly strong wind was-blowing. Otago were not. at full strength on account of the team touring in the North, and fourplayers leaving with the All Black team. Hutania played at centre in the visiting team, and Yates at full-back. The attendance was about 5000. Otago won the toss and played with the wind and sun in their favour. Play at the start was of a scrambling* nature, the visitors more than holding their own. Yates secured, but his kick was charged down, and in a race for the ball over the line Hart won, and drew .first blood for Otago. Dickinson kicked a fine goal. • I lay-had just, resumed when Otago secured from a scrum, and Lamb made a fine opening and gave Knight a clear run m. The Otago forwards worked down close, to the Green's line, where Lusk secured from a-scrum, and smartly evading the opposition, scored a, good solo try. Dickinson converted. Fast passing between Hart, Morgan, and Knight gained 60 yards, and was the best passing of the day. Lamb finished a great effort with a fine try close _to the. posts. Dickinson goaled. Shortly-afterwards Lusk shot thY ball out from a ecrum, and a great passing rush was finished off by Lusfc again securing and sprinting across. Dickinson kicked another goal. ■ • Hutana added another four points to the visitors' .score with a beautiful potted goal. From a hue opening by Lusk, Sonntag scored near the corner. .failed with the kick. The Blues were dominating the play, and Lusk, with another clever opening, sent on to Stewart, who made a sprint and scored at the corner.
