SINGULAR ACCIDENT
NURSE LOSES .HER /SIGHT.
(BI TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) * AUCKLAND, This Day. During the Paparoa's .voyage from London a remarkable accident befel'Mi6s F. Swain, a registered ..nurse, late' of East Ham. While bending, over a child lying on a berth, Miss Swain looked up suddenly, and by some mischance the glass of a porthole encased' in its brass hoop, fell on her head, with some force. It is stated that, although the accident happened only a fortnight ago, and no bruise was visible on the injured lady's head, yet she has lost the sight of both eyes. She has been very distressed, and the case is one for a medical specialist.
