TOO FRANK
YOUNG POET EXPELLED.

SYDNEY, 23rd August. The Proctorial Board of Sydney University has created a vacancy on the poetical staff of the University magazine, "Hermes." ' ' •
The board summoned the editorial staff and asked for an explanation of the publication of ,a certain poem written by a young student. Subsequently the board interviewed the student, and informed him his presence is n6t desired at the University after the present term has concluded.
This exceptional action of the board has created a good deal of resentment among the general body of students. The poem, which was dedicated to Beauty, is described as being "frank."
