WAGES BETTER THAN DOLES
LONDON, 15th August. Mr. J. E. Clyne?, deputy-Leader of the' Labour Party, at Cambridge on employment, declared that it was better to pay £1 a week in wages for productive work than to give a dole of 15s for idleness. Efficiency of capital could be obtained from work, but nothing was obtainable from the payment of relief.
