BOWLING
EASTBOURNE' CLUB.
The annual report presented to members last week stated that the past season of the' Eastbourne Bowling Club had been eminently successful, and satisfactory progress had been made. The financial position of the club was also satisfactory. Last-December the club had the honour of entertaining the Queensland bowlers, who were visiting New _ Zealand, and a very successful function! was arranged, members and visitors spending a very enjoyable afternoon. In February, the club also entertained a team from Marlborough. Pair S( tournaments were held on' New Years Day and on Easter Monday, the winners being Messrs. ■L. Cimino and W. Higginbotham, and Marshall and Abraham respectively. The usual matches were played during the year, the winners being: Wilford Cup, Messrs! A orris and Marchetti; -senior singles. Mr.-T. Mayer; junior singles, Mr. A. C. Beu; championships pairs, Messrs. Johns and Parry. The thanks of the club were due to Mr. F. H. Mather for presentation by him of a handsome Union Jack, which is now flown at the entrance to. the green, and to Mr. Aubrey Mcc for the gift of a sek of lockers. The club's thanks are also due to Mr. J. Besant for again taking the levels of the green. The election of officers resulted, as follows:—President, Mr. P. Levi; vicepresident, Mr. C. A. Marquis; delegate to centre, Mr. A. Munro; hon. secretary, Mr. W. Higginbotham; hon. treasurer, Mr. F. Stewart; hon. auditor, Mr. R. J. Loe; management committee, Messrs., Duff, Munro, Cimino, Johns, and Cluriies-RosE^ :
