WORKERS AND THEIR BEER.
A petition has been presented to Parliament by residents of the Westland, Buller, and Motueka districts' asking that licensed premises shall be permitted to be kept open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Their reasons for making the request are that the present hours are unsuitable for the convenience of manual workers, who have to follow their daily occupations during the hours- when the hotels are open. ■.:.",'-■"
